How To Choose The Perfect Web Host For Your Site?

By Malvi Patel

The first and foremost thing before you think of adapting the cloud hosting services is the size of your business. If you are a start up or a small or medium business, double check yourself whether you can allocate the resources of human, technology and time for study, research and maintenance. Okay, now that you want to go with the cloud services for your business. Now, it is the time to focus very important parameters of hosting requirements to choose the right one.

CLOUDS AND KINDS: The two kinds of cloud hosting are private and public cloud hosting. Private is the choice for the business which needs very high levels of security for the data and can't take risks of sharing the resources. In all the other cases public can be suggested choice, which in turn saves money.

CLOUDS & MODELS: There are three models IaaS, SaaS and PaaS which are based on Infrastructure, Software and Platform.

IaaS, is the Infrastructure-as-a-Service. As the name tells, this service is primarily for providing the infrastructure to the customers rather than the platform or the software. Eventually, the customer needs to go running the software almost independently.

Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), is a service by the cloud hosting majorly providing the data and applications accesses using different kinds of devices at the customer end via network. Matured businesses with the timely needs of certain applications can opt for this service. Less security and less control of data governance should be well understood and be flexible for this one by the customer.

PaaS, Platform-as-a-Service: This cloud customer is provided with the platform, where the customer builds and deploys the application to host the business on the clouds. The concern for this service would be that changing the provider would be a challenging task in the later stages as these are run by the APIs, the proprietary applications.

SERVICE RELIABILITY: Make sure the firm has both the infrastructure and expertise capable of providing the reliable services for your website.

SECURITY: Though cloud hosting boasts about the security provided by it, critics are always opposing this reminding about the higher levels of security threats too. The fact remains that the deeper analysis of identity management, access control and authorization & authentication is unavoidable.

SCALABILITY: The scalability is the major piece of hot cake tempting the customers to fly on the clouds. If the business demands flexible hosting resources changing with the time, cloud is the best solution. And the good tradeoff between the applications and money spent is important.

Best wishes to fly on to the clouds with good analysis and understanding of all the above parameters suggested.
